Surf Camps and Surf Schools Make Fun Adventurous Vacations for Families and Individuals

Author: Vacation Man
Yo dude, let's hang ten on a log. But, don't be a kook bra or you'll go over the falls fer sure. What was that? Well, its surfer talk that you are going to need to learn for your surf camp vacation that will involve sun, fun and adventure at the beach.

If you are looking for a vacation for an outdoor enthusiast or active family, consider taking a trip to a surf camp. From the coasts of California, Hawaii, Florida, Australia, Costa Rica and many more places you will find surf camps or surf schools that are a perfect vacation for those of you who want a true workout and want to experience the exhilaration of riding a wave.

Surf camps are available to kids, teens, adults and families, so it is not limited to one age group. Depending on where you go you can take a family friendly surf vacation and surf as a family or head to a beach that is for your specific age group to avoid sharing your wave with younger (or older) surfing hopefuls.

You can send your teens to a summer surf school which is similar to any other summer camp. There are camp counselors that double up as teachers. Most surf camps offer a good 3:1 or 2:1 teacher/student ratio. The teachers are certified professional instructors. Your kids will learn about marine life and ecosystems in addition to getting surfing lessons.

If you are taking an extended family vacation to a costal destination, you might also find surfing schools that will offer surfing lessons at different times of the day, so you should be able to find a time that suits your schedule. Many families opt for this so that they can plan their own excursions while still getting surfing lessons.

If you are looking for an exotic surfing vacation and surf camp, consider traveling to Costa Rica. Such surf camps as the Green Iguana Surf Camp will teach you about much more than surfing. You will also get to explore inland and learn about the local cultures and traditions. Costa Rica is said to have some of the best waves that you will ever encounter in your life. You can ride the calmer waves and then enjoy watching the professionals and experienced surfers catching some giant waves or riding the tubes.

Before you embark on your surfing vacation, check out some surfer slang online so that you will know what they are talking about. Surfers have their own language and it is forever changing so it is hard to keep up.

So go learn to ride goofy foot on your long board in the green room. Take a surfari to a surf camp this year and you will have memories that will last a life time and an experience that will be sure to keep you coming back for more.
